Account & Data Deletion

1. How to delete your account

Option 1 — In the app (immediate)

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again for security.

Option 2 — By email

Email privacy@flyconnect.co with the subject “Account deletion request” and the email or phone number on your account. Verified requests are handled within 30 days.

2. What data is deleted

• Profile (name, email, phone, airline, position, bio, photo)
• Saved posts
• Blocked list
• Followers / following
• Trip / passport history
• Firebase Auth identity
• Push token & device IDs
• Uploaded photos

3. What is retained, and why

• Posts you authored are anonymized, not deleted — shown as “[deleted user]” with your name and photo detached, to preserve others’ replies and likes. Delete specific posts first if you want them fully gone.
• Messages you sent may remain visible to other chat participants, detached from your profile.
• Encrypted backups may hold data for up to 30 days, then are purged.
• Limited records are retained only where legally required.

We do not retain your data for advertising or sell it.

4. Timeline

• Immediate (in-app) / within 30 days (email) — profile and identity gone, posts anonymized.
• Within 30 days — backups purged.
• Longer only if legally required.
